East Brown Cow is thrilled to announce that Jacob Soley, Director of Development at East Brown Cow, has joined the Board of Trustees of the Maine Historical Society (MHS). Jacob joins a second new board member, Stacy Stitham, Managing Partner of Brann & Isaacson.

Steve Bromage, Executive Director, shared, “MHS is thrilled to welcome Stacy and Jacob to the Board during an exciting period of growth at the organization. Both bring valuable civic and professional experiences and demonstrate a deep commitment to Maine’s past, present, and future.”

“I’m delighted to have this opportunity to serve on the Board of Trustees,” said Jacob. “MHS has been an incredible partner for East Brown Cow for many years—across many of our restoration projects in the Old Port. I’m grateful to have a chance to give back to the organization and the wider community.”

Jacob grew up in Cape Elizabeth and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Urban and Regional Studies, with a Minor in Architecture. Previously, he has worked for several architecture firms and organizations. Since 2024, Jacob has served on the Board of Architalx, which sponsors lectures that foster creative dialogue within the design community and the general public, to broaden greater understanding of architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism, and design. In his role on the Maine Historical Society Board of Trustees, Jacob serves on the Collections & Research committee.

Maine Historical Society (MHS) preserves and shares Maine's story. Founded in February 1822, Maine Historical Society is the third-oldest state historical society in the country. It is a modern, forward-looking organization with an expansive vision for the role that history and MHS can play in Maine.
